Secrets Vallarta & Now Amber Join Hands to Save the Environment

With the increase in environmental awareness, green business has become the motto for various enterprises. This effort is recognized by Puerto Vallarta and in recent times various projects for the certification of companies who are environmentally responsible have been implemented. Sustainable tourism is practiced by many hotels and special endeavor is being employed by the Puerto Vallarta International Convention Centre towards preserving of the El Salado Estuary, a unique mangrove eco-system in the region.

Joining the green wagon is the Secrets Vallarta Bay Hotels & Now Amber who have signed a collaborative agreement between the University Centro de la Costa de Guadalajara and AMResorts, to help develop sustainable tourism in Puerto Vallarta and Banderas Bay.

According to the agreement, the university will offer advice and guidance to hotel staff to help create environmental initiatives to keep tourism sustainable in Puerto Vallarta.

The University de la Costa has a Center for Sustainable Tourism Development. In addition, the university maintains an active role in environmental development in the area including the rescue effort of the El Salado Estuary.

The General Manager of Secrets Vallarta Bay Hotels & Now Amber, Mauricio Martinez, emphasized the common interests between the AMResorts and the University to start together a series of programs for local people to preserve biodiversity, reduction or recycling of waste resources, and sustainable use of natural resources in the region of Banderas Bay.

Puerto Vallarta MLS zone with its magical waters and gorgeous beaches attracts tourists from all across the globe. At times such high influx of people has harmful effects on the environment but such positive initiative by the business houses of the region, such effects can be neutralized. These efforts are sure to serve for the betterment of the region in the long run.
