After flying directing to Mexico City and Guadalajara, Copa Airlines will be launching their service of direct flights Panama to Puerto Vallarta. The date for launching the flights with capacity seating of 100 people has not been finalized yet.

Aurelio Lopez Rocha, Secretary of Jalisco Tourism (SETUJAL), said Copa Airlines is in the process of receiving a significant number of aircraft already on order which will be servicing Puerto Vallarta but the delivery of the planes will be one by one, hence the uncertainty of the absolute date the service will begin.

Compañía Panameña de Aviación, S.A., operating as Copa Airlines (CM), is Panama City based airline. It serves as Panama's flag carrier. Its main base of operations is Tocumen International Airport, and the airline currently offers more than 280 daily scheduled flights to 64 destinations in 29 countries in North, Central and South America, and the Caribbean with a fleet of 80 airplanes.
