Puerto Vallarta in focus at Vancouver Mexico Fest

From 5th to 16th of September, the residents of Vancouver got a taste of the Bay of Banderas in the Mexico fest. The beautiful towns of Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit were featured in the fest. The 11 day fest showcased art exhibit, music, culinary celebration, a gala dinner, a golf tournament, the 5th edition of the Fiesta Mexico Independencia and Mexi-Go! Travel and Trade Expo. The event was co-hosted by Puerto Vallarta along with the Mexican Consulate, Mexico Tourism Board and the Riviera Nayarit CVB.

The fest was a platform to present the magical towns situated on the Banderas Bay, its gastronomy, new products and Fall and Winter getaways opportunities. The participation of Alfonso Cadena Rubio, Executive Chef of La Leche and Chef Betty Vazquez Executive Chef at the El Delfin Restaurant in Riviera Nayarit was one of the main attractions at the event. La Leche is one of Puerto Vallarta’s trendiest restaurants. The chefs participated in various culinary events held as a part of the festival.

Various delegates of Puerto Vallarta participated in the festival. Guillermo Ohem, General Director of the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board, represented the destination at a press conference at the Fairmont Hotel. Numerous tourism professionals attended the MEXI-GO! TRAVEL AND TRADE EXPO held at the Vancouver Convention Centre.

According to Vallarta Coast Realty's Tom Budniak, such events and festivals showcasing Puerto Vallarta as a complete holidays and lifestyle destination not only sends out positive signal to media and general public about Mexico but also improves tourism and real estate investment climate in Puerto Vallarta.

Two Mariachi group performed at the Fiesta Mexico Independence, an additional event which was a part of Mexico Fest. A Golf Tournament was also held giving an opportunity for Puerto Vallarta to promote its world-class golf courses.

The glimmering Pacific coast town of Puerto Vallarta is the idyllic old town with great beaches and fabulous food. It is a perfect blend of tradition and modernity. Nestled in the inner recess of the Bay of Banderas, it is dotted with pristine beaches which make it a top tourist destination.
