One of the most beautiful miles on Earth, the famous El Malecon in Puerto Vallarta is a mile-long oceanfront boardwalk that follows the beach and the main street in downtown Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The Malecón or seaside promenade is one of the most renowned features of the region. The renovated Malecon has been nominated by the magazine "Obras" to win the title of the best "Work of 2012".

Malecon, one of the most popular tourist spots in the region has restaurants, bars, lounges and nightclubs. Around two thousand meters of quarry, pavers and concrete was used to give the Malecon a new and fresh look. It has been listed under the Urban Renewal category by the magazine and can be voted for by visiting http://www.obrasweb.mx/obra-del-axo. The voting process began on September 17. The winners will be declared on September 27, 2012.

Malecon is also a source of pride for Puerto Vallarta condos and home owners who chose thsi city not just for its beaches but also for the rich art and culture scene thriving in the town.
