Not Just Fishing, Riviera Nayarit Excels in Kite Board Race Too
Nayarit Real Estate Region Hosts Kiteboarding Competition!
Between the historic port of San Blas in the Mexican state of Nayarit and extending southward to where the Río Ameca or Ameca River empties into Banderas Bay in Nuevo Vallarta, the stunning 200 mile coastline of Riviera Nayarit is a water sports enthusiast’s paradise. So, it comes as no surprise that two out of the four Mexicans competing for the much celebrated Kite Board Racing World Championship 2012 hail from Riviera Nayarit.

Cache Basaves and Pedro Pablo Gonzalez are the two locals who represented Riviera Nayarit at the Championship which took place from the 2nd to the 4th of October, competing along with Mexican compatriots Agustin Tapia and Sean Farley in the Kite Board Race discipline in Cagliari, Sardinia, Italy, where the Championship is being hosted this year.
Due to its growing popularity and participation, pending one last round of votes, this discipline will become an Olympic Sport that will debut in the Rio 2016 Olympics.
Famous for several spectacular beaches, the Riviera Nayarit is a nearly 200 mile stretch of coastline between the historical port of San Blas in the Mexican state of Nayarit and extends southward to where the Río Ameca or Ameca River empties into Banderas Bay, in Nuevo Vallarta. It includes such notable sites as Chacala Bay, Chacalilla, the archeological zone of the Alta Vista, Aticama, Bucerías, Sayulita famous for the surfing, San Francisco, Lo de Marcos, Los Ayala, Rincón de Guayabitos and Peñita de Jaltemba. Riviera Nayarit, so named to promote the beautiful coast line of Nayarit state. It is a great surfing locations abode of natural beauty.
Riviera Nayarit also hosting 1st international fishing tournament. It also has many world class golf courses designed by famous designers such as Greg Norman. Many golf tournaments are regularly held in Puerto Vallarta and adjoining areas throughout the area attracting top golfers from around the world.
