Earning the title of the “Gay Capital” of Mexico by Lonely Planet, Puerto Vallarta is doing every bit to live upto it. It has been testified that Mexico is indeed one of the most desirable destinations in the world for gay travelers. The country is known to provide specialized services for the comfort of the LGBT community. They can sunbath, swim and socialize on the beaches as be as comfortable as fellow travelers. Also various events are organized from time to time providing platform for a great get together.

The mesmerizing beauty of Puerto Vallarta is alluring for the LGBT community as they simply love to holiday in here. They simply can’t keep their feet off the country’s crystal clear waters and spotless beaches. With its pristine shoreline, the city is home to one of Mexico’s most popular gay beaches. They can spend a great evening at the rooftop gay dance club that overlooks the beach. There are also many ways in which the community can keep themselves amused. This is the reason why they consider Puerto Vallarta as the best place to holiday.
 
In their endeavor to create something better always, the Puerto Vallarta Convention and Visitors Bureau confirmed its membership in the International Gay and *** Travel Association (IGLTA). Keeping the commitment to the gay travel market soar high a microsite has been launched as a part of its main website. This feature will ease the searching of gay and gay-friendly businesses. The destination is leaving no stone unturned to appeal to its LGBT travelers.

Also the city hosted its first business forum to discuss ways to cater to the LGBT community. Noted speakers who graced the occasion included City Hall’s Carlos Gerard, GayPV.com’s Tim Wilson, Gay Social Media Alliance’s Don Pickens, and Daniel Gomez from Mijo! Brands. The event was held at Almar Resort’s Alain Chalut formerly Hotel Meza del Mar and attracted attracted 50 local business.

“GEGPV was created to work in tandem with the city’s official agencies to promote the destination,” explained Gabriela Escandon of Mijo! Brands, the agency that developed the GayPV.com website. “Of course, like every segment, the LGBT sector requires a specific tone of voice which this groups intends to address directly in a complimentary way.”

Paco Arjona, SETAC’s Managing Director commented: “There is still work to be done in creating a truly welcoming global destination. The economic benefit from LGBT travellers is immense; we cannot afford to ignore such an important segment of ours visitors.”  

The aim of both the groups is to develop strategies that will keep the interest of the LGBT community in Puerto Vallarta. The destination will officially participate at the LGBT conference in New York and also at the third international LGBT CONFEX in Guadalajara in September 2014.
