With the gorgeous beaches, glittering sand, lush mountains, free flowing river and luxury accommodation, Puerto Vallarta indeed is a traveler’s paradise. Undoubtedly this top world destination is among the most popular destinations for Easter holiday and Passover. The other popular destinations in the country are Acapulco, Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Huatulco, Mazatlan, Manzanillo, Los Cabos and La Paz.

A charming old town, Puerto Vallarta is nestled in the inner recess of the Bay of Banderas. This destination is dotted with pristine beaches housing some of the city’s finest dining areas and luxurious living. Architecture also has a special corner in this old town as it is dotted with magnificent building such as the Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe. There is a harmony of art, culture and nature in Puerto Vallarta giving rise to some of the most spectacular sights.

Observing this trend, the Confederation of National Chambers of Commerce, Services and Tourism (Concanaco-Servytur) has estimated that the economic flow due to the large number of tourist inflow will account to 4.5 percent increase over the same period last year. The destination started receiving visitors from March 23 and will continue till April 7. The beaches, colonial cities and archaeological sites are some of the greatest attractions for tourists.

Jorge Dávila Flores, Council President estimates that there will be a growth 4.4 percent in the number of domestic and international visitors reaching the 12 million mark for the same period.

Tourism has a major role to play in the economy of Mexico as it provides almost 9.0 percent of gross domestic product (GDP). It creates 2.5 million direct jobs and 5.0 million indirect jobs. Majority of the revenue is collected from hotels, restaurants, shops and tourist services such as food and beverages. The tourism industry is the fourth largest source of foreign exchange for the country. In Mexico tourism is considered a national priority and the government is committed to make it the best.
